#163 A Perfect Day for Kangaroos- Haruki Murakami
A young couple plan on going to the zoo to see the new baby
kangaroo. A month goes by before they get a chance to go. That’s life, they
think. By the time they visit, the kangaroo is larger than they thought and not
much of a baby. She is disappointed and asks questions that he cannot answer.
That’s about it. This is just a small slice-of-life
vignette. I’m sure there is symbolism that is meant to lead somewhere. However,
some of these short works by Murukami are just brain-droppings that may of may
not get enfolded into larger works. This feels unfinished.
